Molenbeek used to be the bustling and polluting industrial neighbourhood of Brussels. Every street block has some kind of a workshop, factory or warehouse. There's a chimney in every courtyard, a gate for trucks and offices next to houses.
The city with its strangling traffic jams and restrictive laws has killed the industrial activity. The money moved out, immigrants came in.

The building is now owned by the Brussels Regional Development Agency.
One day the money will move in again and the facades will be redecorated with colourful flowers, the streets with shiny cars.

In the mean time these mysterious, silent places remain hermetically sealed ... yes, you need a key to enter ... merci Nathalie !
