Tertre, close to Saint Ghislain, is one of many coal mining towns in the Borinage region.
I knew there was a carcoke factory (the third after Buda Marly and Zeebrugge), but somehow it never caught my attention ... luckily it did now.

It must have been abandoned by 1997and everything is still there, nothing has been demolished or taken away.
This is the biggest and best preserved factory I have ever visited.

You enter through a hole in the long concrete wall, and step right into another world : an abandoned world the size of a small town with buildings, machines, tools, roads, offices ... all yours

building number 1 (the largest)
