Tour & Taxis : Warehouse B

Known locally as "the prison"

The cellars

Photographed June 2000

These stairs lead to a world of dark corridors and empty rooms. Was this floor used as a prison during WWII? The cellar has the same footprint as the building, making it equally immense! Perimeter rooms are lit by a small window just above ground level, but the inner corridors and rooms are pitch black. Photographs were taken with the aid of a handheld flashlight.
